She has vampire servants of her own and large cats (lions, tigers, leopards, and hyenas) to call. She, and her menagerie, are attacked by the oldest vampire, affectionally known as “mommy dearest”, who has taken over three members of the Vampire Ruling Council. All of this comes about while she is interviewing new tigers in a bid to become the new Master of Tigers. She must prove herself to the various lines (blue, golden, yellow, orange, black, red, and white) all the while dealing with situations that make it hard for Anita to keep her mind on the business at hand.
This is the 19th book in the
Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series. These books are strictly for adults because of the graphic violence and explicit sexual situations. Every book, from the beginning, has shown Anita to be a strong female character that can take care of herself and cares deeply for her friends and lovers. She gains in powers and men in every book. There are always new twists and turns plus the long term problems that have existed since the first book. I really enjoyed these books and would suggest them to any adult that likes fantasy characters in adult situations.
