A supernatural thriller in the vein of Frank Peretti's early works but without any of the clarity, this book suffers to gain momentum for much of the first half of the book. I set it down so many times because it just didn't make sense and I'm a big fan of speculative writing so I'm used to things that don't make sense. Then once it does start to make sense it isn't compelling.
If you are interested in a different kind of supernatural thriller and enjoy Hines' previous work then take a look at this one. Otherwise, there are a lot of better written and more interesting spiritual thrillers out there that I would recommend over this one. Definitely not Hines' best work.
