Progeny by R.T. Kaelin
Progeny: Children of the White Lions is about Nickalys and his sister Kenders who come to realize that everything they knew, including their identity is a lie. A lie made to protect them, of course. Before they find this out, though, they watch in horror as their village is destroyed and everyone in it murdered.

As they begin their journey they travel through lands where magic is a serious crime. They soon realize that Kenders has some magical ability herself, which complicates things. They are unsure how to respond to this when help comes in the form of a mysterious man named Broedi, who helps them on their travels as they make more friends and enemies. Mostly very powerful enemies. Soon they are caught up in a magical war for an ancient and mythical cause. Their destinies are stranger than anyone could have ever imagined. Myths and legends come to life and they soon realize that their own lives, in the end, are highly likely to fit into one of those two categories.
WOW! I mean just wow! The best word I have to describe this book is 'wow.' This book was so good and so action packed I got into the book on the first page. I am certain that this series is going to win some awards as it its depth reminded me of books, in other genres, we now refer to as classic, like Little Women and Romeo & Juliet. It is that epic.
I recommend this book to anyone Middle School and up. And just because I said 'Middle School and up' does not mean that this book is for children and teens. I am saying that for literary and vocabulary related reasons; Middle Schoolers may be the earliest that someone could read this book and comprehend it. As far as anything that could concern parents in the book, there really wasn't much other than there are gods and goddesses in the book, which may matter to religious readers, and phrases like "what in the nine hells" or "hells" appear throughout the book. Adults should have no trouble with any of this though.
I really do not think I will be able to survive waiting for the next book to come out. If I do die waiting it will be all your fault R.T. Kaelin!
Go out and pick up a copy of this book and read it immediately!
