A thought-provoking book by an amazing author. He chose the nails just for you and me.
He Chose the Nails

The book is not exactly what I thought it was going to be. It did, however, cause me to think long and hard at exactly what Jesus did for me and you when he died upon the cross on the Hill of Calvary. Jesus brought everything to the cross. What do you bring to the cross? Jesus did not have to die such a horrible death - he could have refused to do God's will - but He didn't. He did it all to save you and me. Let's for a moment put ourselves in Jesus' place. Would you have taken on the sins of the world for someone not yet born? The answer is a resounding NO - but Jesus did.
As you read the book - you are standing at the foot of the cross. Jesus is hanging there with a crown of thorns on his head, long spikes through his hands and feet. He is badly beaten to an inch of his life - his life blood is flowing into the sand. People are shouting - mocking him. He is thirsty - someone holds up sour wine on a sponge. Can you feel the nails - the thorns cutting into your scalp - your thirst? Jesus is not a criminal, but he is dying a criminal's death - three crosses - two criminals. One asks for forgiveness, one does not.
On the cross Jesus is forsaken by God. Have you forsaken Jesus? With his last breath he asks God to forgive them because they know not what they do. Have you ask God for forgiveness or thank Him for what he did for you? He said - “IT IS DONE." But for us it is only the beginning.
Suggest you read this wonderfully written book about our Savior Jesus Christ. You will come away from the cross with an entirely different perspective on the death of Jesus.
I liked the book. Recommended for all readers - believers and nonbelievers.
