A Japanese detective is captured by gangsters, framed for his partner's murder, and taken out to sea to be killed. The place that the gangsters take him to is right off Monster Island. (Inexplicably.)

Detective Sato jumps overboard and swims to the island where he quickly comes in contact with some of the inhabitants. By the end of the first episode the storyline is set and Takahashi's quests to clear his name and destroy the gang have begun.
Not a fan of Godzilla and the Monster Island stories, this book never-the-less held my attention with fast paced action and well done artwork. Fans of Godzilla will be interested to read this twist in the monster universe.
