Billy Graham is the world’s renown pastor and evangelist.  He has been adviser to a number of US presidents including George W. Bush. Nearing Home is a delightful book wherein Mr. Graham quotes scriptures, talks about his late wife Ruth and how it feels to be old.  He has mostly given up his pastor position – turning the reins over to his son Franklin.

According to Mr. Graham he has run a good race and it is now time to call it quits and go to be with Jesus. It appears he is just waiting for the Lord to call him home. He can’t wait to be reunited with his precious Ruth.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Graham’s thoughts and insight into getting old  – our mind is willing, but our tired body is not.  He is an amazing man and the world will surely miss this wonderful pastor when the Lord calls him home.

Recommended reading for old and young alike.
